In the meadow we can build a Snowman…..TREE! I love this Christmas Carol and I love my Snowman Christmas Tree. Every year I bring this out it takes me down memory lane. It is filled with old photos of our family of five.
Old photos are double matted in red and a fabric black gingham print. I nestle them in the branches and my heart is happy every time I see them. This is my son, Cory and his twin sisters, Kelsey and Katelyn.
This is me! December 1968!! Check out my sixties dress and hairdo. I still have that cameo pin.
Apparently, my mother in law was the original inventor of matching Christmas pajamas! How she got four boys to wear nightshirts I will never know. Every year my husband, Rob and his three brothers would receive matching nightshirts to wear on Christmas Eve. My husband Rob is the one on the right, in the back. Maybe I should restart this tradition with my 31 and 25 year olds……think they would go for it??
When all the grandchildren were little, my mom would buy them matching outfits. My daughters are the 2nd and 4th ones. Every time they see these pictures they ask me the same question. “Why did you give us boy haircuts?!?!” I blame our hairdresser……
My son at my parent’s house on Christmas Eve. In this picture you can also see a red metal airplane, and parts of a red metal snowflake and wagon. My husband and I went to Appalachian State and on weekends we would go to this quaint little village called Blowing Rock.
They had this wonderful Christmas Shop and we would pick out a red metal ornament every time we visited. When I hang these ornaments on the tree it takes me back to when we were young and life was sweet and simple.
We started this ornament collection over 35 years ago. My husband has been an extremely good sport about Christmas Decorating for a VERY long time.
Red, White and Black themed ornaments including black top hats adorn our Snowman Tree.
Along with our presents the silver bucket holds red fleece blankets.
These blankets are our gifts to our Sunday School Class this year. The tags say “May the love of Christ warm your soul this Christmas Season” Chelsey over at Mothersniche has this free printable!
I am not sure why I am selling snowballs so cheap. Here in Atlanta they are quite rare!
Let me know if you decide to add some family photos to your Christmas Tree this year.
Blessings and Joy,
“He and all his family were devout and God-fearing; he gave generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly” Acts 10:2
